So I recently turned 25 and got myself some new shelves and reorganized how my shelves are laid out SO I figured I would share how I organize my books and my shelves with you all! Also list the other ways I have organized my books in the past etc. ❤
This is another way that is kinda different that I don't see too much. Grouping by short thin books all the way till you get to your big 600+ page books. I do like this option in the sense that if I'm in the mood for a short novel, all jmy shorter length books will be together and vice versa etc.
This is my little favorites shelf! I have lights installed into this one so my favorites are always lit up 😍💕 Keep in mind ALOT of my favs are missing from this shelf since I still have quite a few of my kindle favorites that I need to by in paperback/hardback.
My wall of books:
How I organized my main wall was mostly by color, although towards the bottom end of the shelves I have misc books, some that I need to do for giveaways and some that I need to take to donate etc.
Besides looking pretty though organizing by color is definitely a 'messy' way to have things organized, no series are together, authors books are all over the place instead of all together. But for the time being I'm really liking this. ❤

Different ways to organzie books:
Genre
Why it's great? This is actually probably my FAVORITE way to organize books. If I'm in the mood for a paranormal read..great! I can go to my paranormal section of my shelves which is then organized by type like mermaids, vampires etc. It makes it so quick and easy to find a book to start, and by organizing them this way it also keeps series together and (most) authors together which is always a bonus!
Size (height)
This is a different way to organize that I have heard about people doing, but haven't seen it done much. How you would just group your books together is by height so all your books will line up nicely before going up or down to the next height of books. This is probably a way I will try next time I redo my shelves just cause I'm curious how it will look.
Alphabetical
Nothing beats the good ol try and true way that is organizing by author and title in alphabetical order.
Size (width)

My FAVORITES shelf

This is my little favorites shelf! I have lights installed into this one so my favorites are always lit up 😍💕 Keep in mind ALOT of my favs are missing from this shelf since I still have quite a few of my kindle favorites that I need to by in paperback/hardback.
My 'to read soon' shelf
This top row of shelves is for my books I REALLY want to read soon, this way when I want to start a new book I go here first.
Bonus my gaming/entertainment area:
I also got a new tv media stand for my birthday the one next to my 'to read soon' shelf and I am just so obsessed with it, this is my fiances and I's living room/double gaming area and I just had to share 😍
How do you organize YOUR shelves??
