Derrolyn is really writing an amazing series, a lot of series will have a book or two that are not as event-full or are well basically boring, but not the Marina’s Tales! Each book seems to get better and better, I thought The Fate of the Muse was going to be a calmer read since book one and two were so full of suspense and thrill, but no! Derrolyn made sure she kept her readers attention even MORE in book 3, it really makes me wonder what she is going to have happen in book 4?! Who knows! I can only imagine how awesome it will be!
When I try to pin point my favorite part of The Fate of the Muse…I can’t really pick one. I really loved all the suspense in this one, and meeting some new characters. I think when it comes down to it, my favorite part is the romance (I am such a sucker for romance!!). Marina and Ethan are a great match, I feel (even though Marina is a mermaid ha) that they seem normal…and not in a bad way! A lot of books try to make the romance as magical as possible, and sometimes when authors try too hard to make it magical it comes off cheesy and far too unrealistic. Marina and Ethan’s romance is never like that, they are magical together, but it is always a believable magic..the kind that makes girls believe there is great guys out there (like Ethan) which there is! A lot of books make a ‘perfect’ guy, and honestly there is no such thing as someone that makes no mistakes or is completely flawless..I am just glad to have a series that has a normal guy, who is just genuinely a nice guy! Not some God, the girl worships! They have a great relationship, that I admire and love!
Marina’s Tales is still the only mermaid novels I have read, and it is seriously making me LOVE mermaids, any one that loves mermaids (or just a good book) I would recommend they pick up the Marina’s Tales! It has great friendship, great relationships, awesome suspense, and is just all together so far an amazing series.

The Moon and the Tide brings us back to the same characters, places and romance we loved from Between the Land and the Sea. This time there are evil plans set in motion for Marina..someone is coming after her..and they'll stop and nothing to get her..
Marina thinks she finally has her life set, she may have found out she is half mermaid...but that's all behind her right? After some crazy events, and finally facing the mermaid concil and telling them she denies her birthright of imortality and being a full mermaid..Marina is given a certain amount of moons till she will permentaly be denied her birth right of being a full mermaid and immortal..Marina knows she will never choose to be a mermaid, but with problems in her relationship with Ethan stirring things up, and her constant want to be in the water..being a mermaid is starting to look more and more appealing..and as if all of this isn't enough on Marina's plate..she also has someone watching her every move..and what they have planned for her and the other mermaids is unthinkable..
This was an amazing installement in the Marina's Tales series! I feel everything kicked up in this addition, everything was put up a notch, the romance, the mystery, and the action While everything was being notched up Derrolyn also added a whole new aspect to her series, thrill. The Moon and the Tide had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was gonna happen next, and if the characters I had learned to love were all going to be okay in the end of it all.
Marina's Tales is the first mermaid series I have read, and it just keeps getting better and better! The Moon and the Tide has left me dying for book three in this incredibly romantic and edge of my seat series.

I found this quite a delightful read, it was my first mermaid experience and it did not disappoint. Marina has been taught by tutors her whole life due to her dads career that takes them all over the world, but now that Marina's dad is going to Afghanistan for his work, he is sending Marina to her aunt Abby and cousin Cruz in the town Aptos, Marina doesn't like this idea one bit. She has never been to a normal high school, and she could frankly do without going to one now. At first Marina resits the idea of liking Aptos, but as she becomes good friends with Cruz and his friend Meghan she begins to like the idea of this small town..to Marina this is just a normal town by the beach, that is until she meets Lorelei...a mermaid. Marina swears she must be going crazy until Lorelei saves her life, twice. Marina decides she needs to forget about Lorelei to keep herself out of trouble, but that's all until Lorelie brings up Marinas mom.....Marina doesn't know whats going on, she doesn't know why Lorelie knows about her mom who passed away when Marina was born, she doesn't know why she is the only one that can understand Lorelie and talk to her, but she wants to find out. With or without the help of her friends or Ethan the hot guy at school that is so protective over her. As Marina gets closer and closer to finding out the truth of her life and her mother..the closer she gets to danger..and a temptation she may not be able to resist..
This book is a very nice enjoyable read, Derrolyn had sent me this book for review and I am so happy she did. She has put together an amazing story, I love the way she captured the mermaids, I could really picture them 100% clearly in my head, the way they looked, the way the moved, the way they sounded, everything, she did a wonderful job at describing the mermaids.
Not only was Derrolyns writing amazing in the sense of really capturing the mermaids and everything about them, but her characters were amazingly admirable, I found myself feeling like I really knew them, all of which were likable, even the 'mean girls' I found myself enjoying! The most admirable though was deff Marina, she is such a loving person, but wont let people walk all over her, in my head she is like the perfect main character, not too loving where it comes off unrealistic and fake, but she is also not too strong headed where it comes off unrealistic and annoying, Marina just had the perfect combination of everything. and if she were a real person outside of Marina's Tales, I would love to meet her!
In conclusion, this book was a wonderful first mermaid experience for me and a nice easy flowing read. I cannot wait till my parents get back from vacation and I can pick up book 2, Derrolyn Anderson is an author that I will be looking forward to all her future projects. (:
